ESPAÑOL GENERAL Y CONVERSACIÓN
Who is this course for? This course is aimed at students of all levels. You can start from scratch or from another level. We can discuss this at the beginning so that I can prepare the best lesson program for you.
What are the lessons like? In my classes I like to be very organized, so I prepare an online document in Google Drive for each student where in I include all the resources, activities, links, tasks, etc. You do not need to buy a book. For the people that start from scratch, I will be focusing on the pronunciation and will briefly explain some peculiarities of the history of the Spanish language. This way you can understand the language a bit more. The rest of the classes will be centered on learning basic grammar, new vocabulary, and basic conversations. All we do in a lesson will be reviewed in the following one. If needed, I can speak a bit in English or French to help you with understanding. For students who start from another level, the structure of the classes is more or less the same, but the most important is to improve the oral conversation. I will prepare the classes according to your needs to have a more personalized program.
Is it possible to have only conversation classes? Yes, of course. We can talk about whatever you want, Also, we can work with podcasts, videos or discuss the current events that are talked about in the news whenever the student wants to. I also have prepared a big list of topics with vocabulary for this course. The students can choose one of them for each lesson.
How many classes a week can you have? It depends on you. At the beginning we will talk about the objectives you want to achieve and I will devise a plan that suits your needs. |
ESPAÑOL CON SERIES Y PELÍCULAS
Who is this course for? This course is specifically for intermediate and advanced students. The student will watch movies or TV shows in Spanish and with subtitles in Spanish, which can be very overwhelming for someone that just started learning Spanish. For a student who starts from scratch, I firstly recommend having general classes to be able to do this course later on.
What are the lessons like? I love movies, history and culture so I try to get the most benefit out of these lessons. This is a complete course where you can improve your listening, reading, writing and speaking, and also you will learn lot of vocabulary, idioms and Spanish-speaking countries’ history and culture. If you don’t know how or where to watch the movies or the TV shows, I will provide you with the links where you can watch them in Spanish and with Spanish subtitles. There are TV shows with a lot of episodes, so you can choose between watching the TV show in a regular order or focusing on the episodes that you prefer. The best thing for everybody is that the students watch the videos before they start with the lessons. During the class, we will talk about the events, the historic and cultural context, characters, and we will do activities with the new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions or grammar if it is needed. Of course, we can have more freer lessons and just practice conversation if you prefer.
With which movies or TV shows can we work with? Whichever film or serie you prefer. We can watch movies by Spanish-speaking directors that you like, such as Pedro Almodóvar, Guillermo del Toro… Or we can discuss a lot of TV shows. Some examples are: “Isabel”: it is a biography about the Queen of Castile, Isabella the Catholic (1451-1504). It is about the most important events that occurred during her reign. “Carlos, el rey emperador”: this is considered the sequel of “Isabel” because Carlos (1500-1558) was Isabel’s grandson. “Las chicas del cable”: It is about the 1920’s in Spain. The show follows the people that are working in a telecommunications company in Madrid. “El tiempo entre costuras”: It is about the 1930’s in Spain and Morocco and we can see a story of love and passion. “Cuéntame cómo pasó”: this is about the life of a normal family during the last years of the Franco regime and the beginning of the Spanish transition to democracy. “La casa de papel”, etc. |
PREPARACIÓN DELE
Who is this course for? This course is perfect for students who want to take the DELE exams from the Instituto Cervantes. I prepare lessons for all levels (A1-C2). This course can also work very well for students who want to work on certain specific objectives like improving their listening or reading skills.
What are the lessons like? I usually dedicate the first class to explain the exam guidelines very well. Later, we start to practice with exam models. The writing, reading and listening parts can be done by the student on his own (with materials that I provide) and in class we dedicate time to practice oral conversation and to other questions and difficulties that may arise. I take different DELE preparation books as a reference. The materials are included in the class, so it is not necessary to buy any book. |
